This pilot project commissions research to explore and improve the alignment of rideshare and carshare activity, public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, and ComEd’s equity investment eligible communities (EIECs).
This project builds on the outcomes of the Plan 1 Rideshare Pilot – for more information on Plan 1 work see that pilot page.
This project aims to assess the needs and gaps for rideshare and carshare providers to transition to electric vehicle use. Objectives include:

Latest progress: Project kicked off in June 2026, and implementation planning and data acquisition are progressing. The four primary tasks of Gap Mapping, Barriers Assessment, Intervention Modeling, and Load & Grid Modeling began in July and are proceeding in parallel.
