School Bus Vehicle-to-Grid

Pilot Objective

To assess and demonstrate the viability of implementing vehicle-to-grid technology with electric school buses (ESBs) and showcase the technology’s potential to leverage ESBs as viable energy storage sources while achieving balance on the grid.

Pilot Status

Three school districts are anticipated to finalize agreements, and testing is expected to begin in Q2 of 2025. ComEd’s school district customers that enroll in the pilot will receive enrollment and participation incentives.
