Backup Power Capabilities

Pilot Objective

To conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to study technologies that enable the use of an electric vehicle’s bi-directional capabilities, such as vehicle-to-grid technology, to evaluate their readiness for adoption.

Pilot Status

The pilot is structured around three focus areas. Status updates for each stage are provided below: 

  • Market Analysis & Consumer Behavior Study: secondary market research is currently in progress, alongside the development of a framework for stakeholder in-depth interviews (IDIs).
  • Environmental and Social Impact Study: this is in its final design and formulation stage and is required for initiating assessment.
  • Technical Study: the project is currently in the contracting phase, with preparations underway to initiate technical assessments.
